Cloud System Architect

Title: Cloud System Architect
Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote till Covid)
Duration: Long Term

Need an architect to support multiple cloud and platform architecture initiatives and partner engineering teams across organization. You can expect to be heavily involved in cloud infrastructures, system design and platform architecture. The role also contains an evangelical aspect and there will be the opportunity to participate in technical POCs alongside the Cloud Engineering and Product engineering teams
▪ Cloud architecture and hybrid cloud foundation technical standards establishments and enhancements.
▪ Develop both current and future state architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps to achieve target state and technology modernization.
▪ Technical guidance and POC for Cloud native database and migration strategies.
▪ Infrastructure as a code (IaC) framework to support GAP DevOps transformation
▪ Technical standards and patterns for Kubernetes platform ecosystem.
▪ Support Cloud migration and IaaS to PaaS transformation initiative.
▪ Develop standards for Cloud platforms (CI, CD, Monitoring, Metrics and Logging platform).
▪ Define a multi-region Cloud strategy and scalable system architecture resilient and scalable at high volumes production traffic with 99.999% availability objectives.
Requirements:
▪ 5+ years of total technology experience with minimum 3 years on public cloud (preferably Azure) in handling large scale applications deployments.
▪ 5+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications.
▪ Strong experience with automation (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Chef etc.
▪ 3 year of Cloud infrastructure architect experience in developing architecture blueprints and cloud migrations.
▪ 5 years of strong experience with observability (metrics, monitoring and logging) tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog and cloud native monitoring tools (Azure monitor, Log Analytics etc.)
▪ 3 years of experience with container (k8s) orchestration, automation, and security configuration management.
▪ Demonstrate a strong understanding of Cloud services, DevSecOps toolsets and platforms including compute, storage, networking, Security, Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD as well as monitoring and logging technologies.
▪ Strong understanding and experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
▪ Strong communication and problem solving skills

Nice to Have:
▪ Experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
▪ Distributed Database systems design and development knowledge is a plus
▪ Any Service mesh experience preferably ISTIO
▪ Cloud native application development on Kubernetes (preferably Azure Kubernetes Servcice)
Skills:
▪ Azure, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Chef, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Istio, Jenkins, code fresh (nice to have), Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, cosmos DB, AZURE SQLDB, Azure IaaS and PaaS stack.
